Welcome to the Support group for families of injured service personnel (FISP) case studies page.

Each year, we provide direct, practical assistance to those who serve and those who used to serve. Each year we help more than 50,000 different people. Here are some of their stories.

Lisa's Story

Lisa's husband, Paul, was seriously injured in Afghanistan whilst serving with 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery. It happened in the summer of 2008, just months before their wedding. Paul suffered a fractured skull, broken spine and ribs when the vehicle he was travelling in hit an anti-tank mine. Lisa has joined our Support Group for the Families of Injured Service Personnel.

"Paul was lucky to be alive and although he's getting better, it is a long road to recovery. The Support Group helped me to talk through my thoughts with people who had been through similar experiences. That was really important. I am now in a position to help people who find themselves in a similar situation."
